Who You Are:
Teton Ridge is hiring a Payroll and Accounts Payable Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll processing and manage all accounts payable functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. A key member of the Finance leadership team, the Payroll and AP Manager will play a critical role in safeguarding financial integrity, supporting team members with payroll-related needs, and building efficient, scalable systems as the company grows. What You'll Do:
Payroll Management
Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain employee records related to compensation, benefits, and tax information in payroll systems.
- Handle payroll adjustments, including bonuses, overtime, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare payroll-related journal entries.
- Prepare and distribute W-2s and other required tax documentation annually.
- Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
Accounts Payable
- Manage accounts payable functions, including processing vendor invoices, coding expenses, and verifying approvals during non-payroll weeks.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
- Support the preparation of accounts payable reports and month-end reconciliations.
- Maintain vendor records and ensure compliance with 1099 reporting requirements.
Process Improvement and Compliance
- Monitor and ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations, staying updated on changes.
- Identify opportunities to streamline payroll and accounts payable processes, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to align payroll operations with organizational goals.
Reporting and Analysis
- Generate payroll reports and provide insights for budgeting, forecasting, and auditing purposes.
- Support audits related to payroll and accounts payable, preparing required documentation and reports.
- Analyze payroll trends and data to inform strategic decision-making.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in payroll management with advanced knowledge of payroll software such as Rippling, ADP, Paychex, or similar systems.
- 2+ years of experience as a people leader.
- Advanced knowledge of US Federal and State payroll regulations, tax compliance, and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IRS regulations, and payroll compliance.
- Proficiency with accounting/ general ledger systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP) and Accounts Payable processing (e.g. bill.com).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and/or other data analysis tools.
